About Me

Heyyy! I’m Javontay! 😄 I’m a senior product designer and an award winning artist and illustrator! 🕺🏾

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and earned a BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Graphic Design from Lynn University Online and an MS in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Memphis. Along the way, I sharpened my technical skills at BloomTech Institute of Technology formerly Lambda School, where I became certified in Full Stack Web Development and won a couple hackathons along the way!

My professional design journey started in 2019 when I was approached by Humanitas A.I. to lead the product design of their youth-focused philanthropic mobile experience called Dandi. Since then, I’ve continued to design for impact across industries such as B2B, B2C, and D2C. I have had the privilege of leading the design for some of the biggest brands in the world such as Apple, Chick-fil-A, The United States Air Force, Justworks HR, Big Nerd Ranch and Stellar Elements formerly Amdocs.

Outside of work, you’ll find me blasting indie alternative music, 3D printing toys for my cat Loki, or unwinding 3D modeling in Blender or playing video games. Lately, I’ve been into playing Marvel Rivals ( Lord Wanda 😈), looping Little Simz ‘No Thank You’ album, rewatching Loki on Disney+, and hunting for more key lime spots in Memphis. 😌🍋‍🟩

Art & Illustrations

I am a Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2015 Gold and Silver Key recipient and a featured artist in The Hunger Games Exhibition that premiered on Times Square in New York City. My work has been showcased at the Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, TN, highlighting me as a rising local artist. I have collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producers on album covers and received a feature and shoutout from actress, model, and singer Zendaya Coleman to her audience of over 180 million followers. In the future, I hope to have the honor of painting an official presidential portrait.

Here’s a glimpse of my latest work from Instagram—art that explores every depth of my being, from darkness to light. I believe it’s essential for us, as humans, to explore ourselves and express that journey in a way that is both healthy and meaningful. For me, that expression has always been through art and design.
